The Groove – Play That Funky Bingo – Blurb from 03/25/2026
The Groove packed in 58 players this week, which is right around the threshold where the room starts to feel like a family reunion — if your family reunion had better music, more pork, and fewer people asking why you don’t visit more.
Round One (Been There Sing That Pt 1 📍) warmed everyone up nicely. Logan t, lelia c, brittanie s, and the rest of the early dabbers stretched their bingo muscles like they were prepping for a 5K. Round Two (80s Part 3) hit and suddenly half the room was reliving their youth while the other half was pretending they didn’t learn these songs from TikTok. Jay r and Celeste r came out swinging, and Logan t doubled down like he was trying to impress the wheel.
Round Three 🎺 (More Horns, Please Pt 1) brought the brass, the sass, and the people who point at the ceiling every time a trumpet hits a high note. Jess h, melanie h, matt w, debbie d — all of them dabbed like they were auditioning for a marching band that only plays in bars. Round Four (Class of 1975) arrived with the energy of a yearbook photo nobody asked for but everyone enjoyed. The list was long, chaotic, and somehow included my name, which I’m choosing to interpret as either a clerical error or a bold attempt at multiverse dominance.
Meanwhile, Brittanie and Vickie were unusually quiet, which was unsettling in the same way it’s unsettling when a toddler suddenly stops making noise. I’m not saying I miss having things thrown at me… but I’m also not not saying it. 🛩️ We also welcomed a brand‑new table of players who dove right in and had a blast, always a good sign when the rookies leave smiling instead of blinking at me like they’ve just witnessed a cult ritual.
